Know the paper. Work out your score. Then practise on the clock.

This page explains the published 2026 examination scheme. It does not establish the 2027 pattern, syllabus, difficulty, shifts or normalisation. For the announcement and its limits, read what is announced about NEET 2027 CBT.

The published paper pattern

The 2026 bulletin specifies 180 compulsory questions: multiple choice, with four options and a single correct answer or best option. The standard duration is 180 minutes and the maximum is 720 marks. Source: examination scheme.

How standard marking works

2026 standard marking
Correct+4
Incorrect−1
Unanswered0

Section 3 also sets special rules for questions with multiple correct options, all options correct, no correct option, a wrong question or a dropped question. The calculator applies standard marking only; it does not apply those adjustments or predict rank.

Standard raw score = (4 × correct) − incorrect. Unanswered questions add nothing. This formula is derived from the marking table above.

Calculate your standard raw score

Enter whole-number counts for correct and incorrect answers. Together they must not exceed 180. The rest are counted as unanswered.

Worked example, not a student's result: 150 correct, 20 incorrect and 10 unanswered gives (4 × 150) − 20 = 580 marks.
